How can I see an Employment Counsellor at Community Futures Boundary and what should I bring to an appointment?
You can either come in or make an appointment with an Employment Counsellor at either our Grand Forks office at 1647 Central Avenue or our Greenwood office at 245 South Copper Street or call to make an appointment; in Grand Forks (250) 442-2722 or in Greenwood (250) 445-6618. You should bring your resume no matter how old, your Social Insurance Number and any information you may have researched in regards to your career plan.
Can someone else call or come in and get information for me from Community Futures Boundary?
We have a very strict confidentiality policy that everyone at Community Futures Boundary adheres to and we will not give personal information about you, your contact info, copies of your resume, etc, without you indicating by signing and identifying a Release of Information form that identifies the person you wish to have information released to. We will not give this information out to someone over the phone for instance. The person you wish to gain your personal information would have to come in to our offices with a picture ID.
If I am working out of province and need resumes, how can I get them?
Call to your Employment Counsellor in our offices and if they can identify you we would send copies of your resume to you.
Is there a cost to using Community Futures Boundary Employment Services?
There are no costs involved in using our employment services.
What is the minimum wage in British Columbia?
On May 1, 2011, minimum wage was increased to $8.75 per hour for most workers, and the training wage was repealed. The minimum wage rate will increase twice more, to $9.50 on November 1, 2011 and to $10.25 on May 1, 2012. A separate minimum wage of $8.50 for employees who serve liquor came into effect on May 1, 2011. This rate will increase to $8.75 on November 1, 2011 and to $9.00 on May 1, 2012.

Contact EI TELEMESSAGE at 1 (800) 206-7218. They will have or will find answers to any questions you may have in regards to Employment Insurance or your claim´s status.
How do I apply for Employment Insurance?
The Service Canada web site at
www.servicecanada.gc.ca is your quickest and most direct way to apply for Employment Insurance benefits online. At Community Futures Boundary, we have computers and staff available to assist you in applying.
Who is eligible for the TIOW program?
Participants eligible for the program must be unemployed workers 50 - 64 years of age, legally entitled to work in Canada and not in receipt of EI benefits.
How long does the TIOW program run?
Each session is 9 weeks in duration (Monday - Friday).
Are there incentives for participating in the TIOW program?
Yes, participants receive an allowance of $350.00 per week (based on attendance). Participants are also eligible for a gas allowance of $50.00 per week and all certificates are free.
What certifications are offered through the TIOW program?
